Friendships

Friend  are so important, without them in your life you feel lost and alone. I have friends that are near and friends that are far and all of them i couldn't do without...but i do wish that some that are so far were just a little bit closer!
So i was glad when Heather returned from her long trip to the US of A. Having her close by is a blessing that i am very thankful for. She was the one that introduced me to Anna, and without either of them my weekends would be much more lonely and not as much fun. Anna said thatby having us as friends she got more than she hoped for her Tilly (or words to that effect). She's right, i mean isn't it amazing that i meet two people who raise their kids in a similar fashion to myself and have kids that are the same age. Lili is just a week younger than Sarah and Tilly is four months younger but it makes less and less difference as time goes by and shortly (if not now) you'd never know. Its so great for the girls to have friends that are the same age as them rather than them always being around adults. kids need to be kids and grow up with other little ones around them. And we need adults that understand that you will not get to see much of the zoo, it will take 30 mins to walk up a hill that should take 5, that kids will have a fit when they are hungry, that they will poop or pee themselves without a nappy on....ect...

Last week before the typhoon hit Taiwan we all went to the zoo: Anna with Tilly, Heather and YaYa with Nykolas, Mia, Lili and Me with Sarah.
It was hetic and a bit wet but fun none the less. The kids were so sweet together and the little ones were finally intersted in the animals...yep Sarah, Tilly and Lili all looked at the animals, i think for the first time. normally Sarah don't care if there is anything  there or not but this time its like someone turned on the lights and they all looked to see what was going on, and weren't too happy when we wanted to move to the next place. Sarah saw a huge (really huge) cow/bull and looked with her head to one side and said "doggie?" Wow its a pretty massive doggie, i told her no it's a cow and she seemed pleased with that answer and moved on. However most of the animals were either doggies or meow meows...i tried to tell her some of the names but some of them i didn't even know, so they were just generic like "monkey" "mouse" ect...even if it was lemur or a vole...they all look the same if your 1! Its better than just cat or dog.
We stopped and all ate pie..mia didn't really want to but everyone else kids and adults alike were glad to have a pie break. Everyone mocked me for having so much stuff, i like to be prepared you know....the truth is i am so disorganised i can't sort out what i really need to bring along and what i can do without. Nevertheless many of the things i did have came in handy that day. including ice (iced water by the time i used it) i had for the pie that was then used on Sarah's head as she fell over whist hugging Lili..she just has so much love to give she doesn't quite no when to stop.

How happy is Nykolas? so cute right

Going to court!

So we have a court date; 21st october 2008...

The court date is to see a judge and for them to decide wether Sarah can be mine legally...
Thus I am so excited but within the same breath scared (that doesn't do it justice really).

The terrible "what if's" run and run, if i let them so i try very hard not to. I try very hard to trust God will do what is right.

Before the court date i will have to have my home study done as it's only been done for foster care, and thus needs to be re evaluated again...so scary, it was fine last time but still scary. I hope that i can answer all the questions that they might ask me. Oh and that they don't mind cats...if they do or have allergies the interview won't go so well.. (one of my cats is overly friendly and doesn't care if you know her or not!)
I'm praying everything with the home study and the  courts will go smoothly and i'll be home for Christmas...

Tom is due back from his trip to England today so i am looking forward to seeing him as he's been gone two weeks, I've missed having him here and Sarah has asked/signed "thomas where" when ever we go to the lab, very cute.
Sarah has also developed a new laugh...it makes me crack up every time i hear it...i will try to record it as i don't know how long it will last, very funny.

Splashing around...

So yesterday i give sarah a lovely bath just before she goes to bed, during the bath Tom calls. So i pick her up out of the bath wrapped (kind of but its still hot here) in a towel and answer the phone.
Tom and i get talking and Sarah gets board, thus wonders and plays, then i hear a massive splash so i think she's thrown something in, or is hurt ect.. so i run into the bathroom, skid across the floor waking my knee in the process, to find her sitting up in the bath splashing around and laughing! agghh Kids will kill you man, it's A amazing that she go into the bath...she's not really tall enough, thus i guess she fell as she tried to reach the jug that was floating next to her, B, it's amazing she didn't get really hurt or choke or anything, and C that i got hurt trying to "save" her while she sat there perfectly fine!

As a disclaimer the bathroom is all of 2 seconds from the phone, i was there in under a min...just so you don't think i had let her run upstairs or anything like that....ok so you can tell i feel guilty that i wasn't watching her closely.

Yesterday sarah got hold of the "vicks" (taiwanese version that isn't so strong and they use for everything...really i'm amazed at what they think it can heal!) she opened it (too smart for her own good) and rubbed it into herself. nice, well it wasn't too bad but then she rubbed her eye, and she still had a big blob on the end of her finger....thus had a rather sticky eye! (in case you need to know it does comes of with tear free baby soap and warm water pretty well..she didn't even cry!)

papers gone to court!

So finnally yesterday with Anna help i submitted the papers for Sarah's adoption.

Ted finished them off and sent them to the orphange and then well i submitted them with 1000 NT fee, have to wait for a court date now...
Ted has been my saving Grace in this as i haven't had to pay him for doing all this work. It's amazing really, if ever i get to a point that i can afford to i will pay him back for the work...will i ever get to that point i don't know. What i can tell you is that God has provided for me so far and and given me a greater gift than money can buy :0)

Sarah has fun in the box house Kalen and i made her...from boxes from work. Free and she loves it...as do that cats! (the lovely dress is from Caroline...so pretty!)
